About West Berwick Golf Club
West Berwick Golf Club, after negotiation with the City of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, took possession of the old golf pro's residence at 420 Park Road in Mt. Carmel, Illinois on April 1, 2008. This is a culmination of an idea began in July of 1999 while attending the Open at Carnoustie that year. The idea of an inclusive Scottish Style golf club with its goal the advancement of Junior Golf was born. During the ensuing almost 10 years, the idea grew and grew until it is now a reality. The clubhouse opened on May 2, 2009 and the first open house for members was May 13, 2009.

Early pictures of the "Country Club" from postcards from the 1920's. Notice the large enclosed back porch that is now missing from the clubhouse. Considering the building was built in 1922 and far from the downtown area of Mt. Carmel, I'm sure the activities at the club during the Roaring 20's would have been a spectacle to witness!
